CUET Exam – 2022

CUET or Common University Entrance Test is an entrance exam organized nationally.  CUET Exam is administrated by the NTA (National testing Agency).  It is conducted for the admission process into UG, PG, and Ph.D. courses of participating universities. Earlier CUET was known as Central University Common Entrance Test (CUCET).  CUET is organized one time in the year in the month of July and the registration for the exam starts in April. More the 10,50,000 students have already applied for the test, It is an assessment exam based on the computer, and exam is going to conducted in two slots.

CUET 2022 exam will be conducted in the 13 different languages this time – Hindi, English, Tamil, Urdu, Punjabi, Odia, Telugu, Bengali, Marathi, Gujrati, Malayalam, Assamese, and Kannada. Exam result is accepted by the 85 central universities in India. Central Punjab University,  Delhi University, Jamia Milia Islamia, and JNU are some of the universities that accept CUET. It is conducted in the 517 cities in India and 13 cities outside India.

Exam 2022 Eligibility

Applicants need to meet the eligibility criteria of the exam set by the central universities. There is no limitation in age for candidates, but they need to match the age criteria established by the individual university where the applicant wants to apply. Eligibility criteria for exam are mentioned below :

  • 12th pass candidates are eligible to appear in the exam.
  • Applicants who have failed the exam in two subjects in class 12th are not eligible for Exam.
  • Exam eligibility criteria can be different from the CUET universities eligibility criteria. For more information applicants are required to visit the official website of the universities where they are willing to apply.

CUET 2022 Exam Pattern

NTA the conducting body of CUET will organize the exam in 13 different languages this time. Earlier this exam was conducted in an offline manner but from now onwards NTA decided to use the online mode for the exam. This exam is organized in two slots- 1. The morning slot carries 700 marks and the 2. The evening slot carries 400 marks.  Below are some details mentioned related to the exam pattern :

  • No. of Question –  Slot 1 – 175, Slot 2 – 100
  • Marks of Each Question –  5
  • Exam Pattern –  MCQs
  • No. of Section in Exam –  4
  • No. of Test –  Maximum 9 (4 in Slot 1 and 5 in Slot 2)

CUET Syllabus

The exam consists of 4 sections it will have the various topics related to languages, domain-specific subjects, and aptitude. The academic syllabus of classes 11th and 12th is also included in the exam for the UG courses. For PG courses the academic syllabus of UG is included in the exam.  This exam have different syllabi for different domains of students.  In general, there are 27 seven domain-specific subjects available in the exam.
