CUET 2022 Syllabus

Now the stage is all set for the CUET 2022 candidates; the registration for the exam has already started. CUET provides the opportunity for students to take admission in central universities of India for UG/PG/Ph.D courses. It’s time for all the aspirants to make a proper exam strategy and start working on that. CUET has a well-defined exam syllabus given by the NTA. For better preparation of the exam, an applicant must be aware of the CUET exam syllabus. It will help the candidates to understand certain things like the most important topics, points that need extra care, and how to manage time during the CUET 2022 exam.

• Number of Sections in exam –  4
• Exam Language –  13 (Hindi, English, Tamil, Urdu, Punjabi, Odia, Telugu, Bengali, Marathi, Gujrati, Malayalam, Assamese, and Kannada)
• Exam Question type –  MCQ
• CUET Marking Scheme –  5 marks for every right answer

As per the CUET Exam 2022 Syllabus, this entrance exam has been divided into 4 sections :

• Section IA – 13 Languages
• Section IB – 19 Languages
• Section II – 27 Domain-specific Subjects
• Section III – General Test

CUET Syllabus 2022 –  Language Section

The language test in CUET is designed to evaluate the fluency of the candidate in different languages. CUET exam section 1A and 1B come under the language test. Questions based on the Reading Comprehension(Passage) will be featured in the exam of CUET 2022. Different types of passages based on: Factual, Literary, and Narrative [Literary Aptitude & Vocabulary] will be asked in the exam of this year.

Section 1A and 1B will consist of the following languages:

Section 1A: Hindi, English, Tamil, Urdu, Punjabi, Odia, Telugu, Bengali, Marathi, Gujrati, Malayalam, Assamese, and Kannada

Section 1B: German, Chinese, French, Italian, Arabic, Nepali, Japanese, Russian, Spanish, Kashmiri, Tibetan, Dogri, Bodo, Konkani, Manipuri, Maithili, Santhali, and Sindhi

CUET Exam syllabus – Domain-Specific Section

In this section, 50 questions will be asked in CUET 2022. The syllabus for this section is based on the NCERT model and the topics will come from the books of class 12th. It means that all the CUET UG candidates are required to read the class 12th books for the best CUET preparation of the domain-specific section in the CUET exam. Candidates can choose the subject of their choice for the exam but the number of subjects should not be more than 6. Domain-specific subjects are further divided into 2 groups :

Domain Subjects: Accounts, Biology, Business Studies, Chemistry, Computer Sciences, Economics, Geography, History, Home Science, Legal Studies, Maths, Physics, Political Sciences, Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology, and Sanskrit.

Additional Subjects: Physical Education, Engineering graphics, fine arts, knowledge tradition-practice in India, mass media, performing arts, teaching aptitude, commercial arts, agriculture, and entrepreneurship.

CUET 2022 Syllabus –  General Test

The general test section in the CUET exam is to check the aptitude ability of the candidates.  Questions from the static general knowledge will be asked in the test. In total 70 questions will come in this section and out of them 60 need to be attempted by the applicants. The following topic will come under this section:

• General Knowledge & Current Affairs
• General Mental Ability
• Numerical Ability
• Quantitative Reasoning
• Logical and Analytical Reasoning

CUET Syllabus 2022 – PG Courses

The syllabus for the PG courses is different for every program. Candidates must be aware of the fact that the syllabus of their CUET examination will be based on the courses/subject selected by them during CUET registration.  In general CUET 2022  PG syllabus consists of two sections:

Section 1:  25 objective questions (MCQs) from General Awareness, English, Mathematical, Analytical Skills, and Aptitude topic.

Section 2: 75 objective questions (MCQs) related to the course and subject chosen by the applicant during filling up the CUET Application form.

Candidates who are applying for the PG courses through CUET are advised to check the official website of the CUET universities where they want to apply. To check the available courses, seat availability, and eligibility criteria before applying for the CUET exam.
