Now the stage is all set for the CUET 2024 candidates; the registration date for the exam has already started.  CUET provides the opportunity for students to be admitted to central universities in India. It’s time for all the aspirants to make a proper exam strategy and start working on that. CUET has a well-defined exam syllabus given by the NTA. For better preparation for the exam, an applicant must be aware of the CUET exam syllabus. It will help the candidates to understand certain things like the most important topics, points that need extra care, and how to manage time during the CUET 2024 exam.

Number of Sections in exam –  4

Exam Language –  13 (English; Hindi; Gujarati; Bengali; Assamese, Kannada; Tamil; Telugu; Malayalam; Marathi; Odia & Urdu)

Exam Question type –  MCQ

CUET Marking Scheme –  5 marks for every right answer

Number of Questions –  175 and 200 (need to verify)

As per the CUET 2024 Syllabus, the exam has been divided into 4 sections :

  •  Section IA – 13 Languages
  • Section IB – 19 Languages
  • Section II – 27 Domain-specific Subjects
  • Section III – General Test

CUET 2024 Syllabus –  Language Section

The language test in CUET is designed to evaluate the fluency of the candidate in different languages. CUET exam section IA and IB come under the language test. Questions based on the Reading Comprehension(Passage) will be featured in the exam of CUET 2024. Different types of passages based on: Factual, Literary, and Narrative [Literary Aptitude & Vocabulary] will be asked in the exam.

  • Section 1A and 1B will consist of the following languages:
  • Section 1A: English; Hindi; Gujarati; Bengali; Assamese, Kannada; Tamil; Telugu; Malayalam; Marathi; Odia & Urdu.
  • Section 1B: Chinese, German, French, Arabic, Italian, Japanese, Nepali,
  • Russian, Spanish, Tibetan, Dogri, Bodo, Kashmiri, Konkani, Maithili, Manipuri, Santhali, and Sindhi

CUET syllabus 2024 – Domain-Specific Section

In this section, 50 questions will be asked in CUET 2024. The syllabus for this section is based on the NCERT model and the topics will come from the books of class 12th. It means that all the CUET UG candidates are required to read the class 12th books for the best preparation for the domain-specific section in the CUET exam. Candidates can choose the subject of their choice for the exam but the number of subjects is not more than 6. Domain-specific subjects are further divided into 2 groups :

 Domain Subjects: Accounts, Biology, Business Studies, Chemistry, Computer Sciences,

Economics, Geography, History, Home Science, Legal Studies, Maths, Physics, Political Sciences, Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology, and Sanskrit.

Additional Subjects: Engineering graphics, Physical Education, knowledge, tradition-practice in India, fine arts, performing arts, mass media, teaching aptitude, commercial arts, entrepreneurship, and agriculture

CUET Syllabus –  General Test

The general test section in the CUET exam is to check the aptitude ability of the candidates.  Questions from the static general knowledge will be asked in the test. In total 70 questions will come in this section and out of the 60 to be attempted by the applicants. The following topic will come under this section:

  • General Knowledge & Current Affairs
  • General Mental Ability
  • Numerical Ability
  • Quantitative Reasoning
  • Logical and Analytical Reasoning
